QLD:Armed robbers caught on the Gold Coast
GOLD COAST, Aug 9 AAP - Two men wanted over a number of armed robberies on the Gold
Coast have been arrested, after one ran into a local school to hide from police.
Police spotted the men in Ashmore around 1.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday but they ran off.
A few minutes later a man was spotted running into the grounds of Trinity Lutheran
College and the school was notified, with the principal immediately ordering a lockdown.
Officers searched the school and found a man, who was not carrying any weapons, hiding
in the grounds.
Not long after, a second man was captured nearby.
The school was reopened about 2.40pm, both men are being questioned by police and charges
may be laid on Tuesday night.
