Recruiters from the financial services industry are coming to Troy in surprising numbers to hire new managers from an unexpected pool of applicants - engineering majors.

Talent scouts from banks, brokerage firms, financial consulting concerns kand similar businesses have, in recent months, begun courting Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's engineering majors in earnest, according to Vicki Lynn, director of RPI's Career Planning and Placement Center and one of the nation's best known practitioners in the placement field.
