NSW: Police appeal for Syd Oly torch owner to come forward

New South Wales police are looking for anyone who's lost a Sydney 2000 Olympic Games
torch, or believe they've had one stolen.

Police say they found a torch among stolen property during a raid in Sydney's west
in April -- and they've been unable to find its owner.

The Australian Olympic Committee didn't keep records of who received torches in the
lead-up to the Games.

Anyone who's missing the torch should contact Crime Stoppers on 1300 888 000.

They must provide identification, the correct number of the torch and be able to describe
any identifying marks.
