BAXTER, SA, Aug 25 AAP - The welfare agency which will take care of five children grantedfreedom from immigration detention has arrived at the Baxter detention facility to collectthem.

Dale West, Director of Centrecare, a Catholic welfare agency, said he expected thechildren to be released quickly and he would take them directly to Adelaide.

The children, all from the same family and who cannot be named, are being held in detentionin South Australia.

They won their freedom today when the full Family Court granted an appeal against adecision by another judge, Justice Steven Strickland, who refused an application for aninterim release order.

Justice Strickland said he was not convinced that releasing the children would be intheir best interests.

But today, Justices Joseph Kay, Ian Coleman and David Collier found the evidence overwhelminglysupported a conclusion that the children's release was in their best interests.
